ULI will miss Dean’s humor, insights, dedication, and, most of all, his friendship.
As many of you know, unexpectedly, Dean Henry passed away in early August. In addition to his leadership in the industry, serving as CEO of Legacy Partners, Dean was also a leader at ULI. A member for more than 30 years, he was a Trustee, a generous donor to the ULI Foundation, and a strong advocate for the district councils, serving on the advisory board and sponsorship committee for ULI San Francisco. His engagement in the multifamily product councils over the years resulted in an incredible learning experience for members at all levels of their careers. He always believed he got as much as he gave from his fellow council members. As Preston Butcher, a long-time ULI member and Dean’s business partner, said, “As for me personally, Dean was not only a partner but a friend. Our business relationship resulted in great developments that I hope exemplify the best practices from which ULI members can learn and carry forward. This is a loss not only for the industry but for ULI.”
